The Executive Council of Cotton Research and Development Association (CRDA), CCS HAU, Hisar and the Director, ICAR-Central Institute for Cotton Research (CICR), Nagpur and President CRDA will welcome the researcher's, teachers, students, agricultural professionals, traders, progressive farmers and other entrepreneurs to the International Conference on “Innovative Technologies for Research and Development for Sustainable Production of Cotton, Oilseeds and Fibre Crops” at ELA, OLD GOA from November 13-15, 2024

SCOPE AND AIM OF THE CONFERENCE
Cotton is one of the most ancient and very important crop of global importance with a significant role in Indian agriculture, industrial development, employment generation and improving the national economy. It is cultivated for domestic consumption and also expor ted worldwide in about 111 countries. Millions of people depend on cotton cultivation, trade, transportation, ginning and processing for their livelihood. Cotton is basically cultivated for its utilization in textile industries as raw material.

Oilseeds crops are grown across the global for the valuable edible oil. Additional, the meal fraction from many oilseeds that part of the seed after the oil is removed is used as an important high protein animal feed product. The oil from these crops is used for human, and animal consumption in addition to industrial applications. Oilseeds crops have been the backbone of several countries agricultural economics from antiquity and play a prominent role in agricultural industries and trade throughout the world. India is one of the major oilseeds grower and world's fourth largest oilseeds producers after USA, China and Brazil. The contribution of oilseeds to the agricultural economy of India rank second only to food grain. Recently, oilseeds attracted more attention due to their increasing demand for vegetables oils, livestock feed, pharmaceuticals, bio feeds and other chemicals industries.

The jute, flax, cotton, mesta, agave, banana, pineapple etc. are the important fibre crops of North Eastern region of India. However, the productivity and area coverage is very low. Jute is predominantly a rainfed annual crop. Its cultivation is labour intensive, but is requires relatively small quantities of other inputs such as fertilizers and pesticides and can be carried out in small holdings. Jute and Kenaf are cultivated almost exclusively in developing countries and East Africa and in some parts of Latin America, Bangladesh, India and Thailand.
ABOUT THE CRDA
COTTON RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION
The “Cotton Research and Development Association (CRDA)” is a professional forum, protecting the cotton production technologies, it's by and allied products. The association being the single crop having 245 life members, 200-250 become annual members and about 36 Institutional/ libraries members. The Association was established on 3rd January, 1986 in Cotton Section, Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, CCS HAU, Hisar and was registered under Society Act XXI of 1860 and re-registered under the Act of June, 2012 on 3rd November 2016 with Registration number 1967. The association provides an international platform to advance modern concept of cotton production technologies.

It strives to provide information on latest developments and research advances in the area of cotton research and development through its official journal the "Journal of Cotton Research and Development" with NAAS rating 4.70. It provides opportunities for scientific communication, collaboration and professional development. The association organized National and International Conferences/Symposiums on major issues related to cotton cultivation in collaboration with SAU's and ICAR institutes and till now the association has organized more than 25 Conferences/Symposium/ Congress.
